Happy Wellness Wednesday!
I’m delighted when a client says, “I really have to focus when I’m doing that.”
YES!!! Exactly! Pilates is not your usual workout where you can think about dinner for your family or the exchange you had with a friend or colleague earlier that day or the prep that needs to happen for a meeting tomorrow. It’s a full on commitment to YOU. Your body. As you integrate all the pieces physically there is something that happens in your brain, too. You activate certain neural pathways that say, “thanks, I need to use these muscles more!” That’s why pilates is a great mind-body-spirit practice. Being able to give yourself the focus and attention to being with your body in a precise and harmonious way is life changing. Really! Be interested in yourself enough to give your complete attention to what you’re doing in your pilates practice, then enjoy copious benefits after.
If you’ve been practicing pilates for awhile then you know this to be true! If you’re newer and still figuring that out… great! Stick around there is more to come.
Quick question for you –
Are you a newbie pilates teacher or do you know any? Anyone who completed a pilates certification training in the past 2 years. You do NOT need to live in Philadelphia. How’s it going for you? Any concerns or insecurities about offering this practice to the world? I’m all ears.
I’m interested in speaking with some new teachers about their experience thus far. If YOU are one of those lucky souls who now teach pilates and you’d be open to sharing your experience, I’d LOVE to hear from you. Send me a quick email: christina@pilatesalchemy.com. Thanks in advance for sharing and spreading the word.
