X marks the spot.
Unwind. Bit by bit. Try this little exercise to see how you can unravel some of the tightness wrapped around you! Within each of us is a matrix of sheathing that contains our whole body literally. Your muscles, your organs, your bones, your nervous system, ligaments, tendons, ALL of you is wrapped up in what’s called fascia. This fascia can sometimes get stuck, sticky and trapped do to injury, surgery, illness or chronic use. Movement is key to helping open you up to more freedom. Try this when you have a few minutes to gently nudge and open you up. Let the floor support you. No need to rush. Just keep giving back to the floor and your breath. Bit by bit.
Here’s some further direction: Lying on your back. Expand your arms and legs to make an X on the floor. Beginning with your left arm, lift and circle up and in toward your shoulder moving across your sternum to opposite shoulder. Then return it back. Switch and do the same on the right side. Incrementally keep moving across over your body further making your way along the opposite arm with your fingers a little bit more each time. Keep alternating sides. Eventually you will cross your body fully, your hand will reach and pass the other hand and stretch beyond it… allow this stretch to happen with your breath supporting you. Then roll your way back to center. Do each side fully the whole length of your body.
