Why Pilates?

You know you need to be fit, stronger, more flexible, to increase your stamina and to develop better balance. Why? Because:

  1. The doctor told you so
  2. You just feel lousy
  3. Your spouse or partner said they’ll leave if you don’t do something
  4. You have back pain
  5. You’re recovering from a surgery or injury

Jewellea-6626Well, whether it’s one of the reasons above or one of your own unique reasons… they’re all valid. The good news is: with Pilates, you’ll discover great fitness, health, strength, balance, vitality AND keep your partner happy.

Most importantly, it will keep you happy, too.

I’ve said it before… Pilates is a whole body workout. Its advantages are many. The goal is whole body integrated strength, flexibility and it’s good for your brain too.

When you practice Pilates, you’re using all your faculties… breath, mind, body… accessing every inch of you from your feet through your head. A great perk for those with back pain — it will decompress the spine through active integrated movement.

“Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.”

— Joe Pilates

If you want to bulk up and isolate different muscle groups… go to a gym.

With Pilates, you can: rehabilitate your body, become more aware of your body in space through movement, get in better shape, increase your capacity to focus and find balance.

That’s the best part: it’s a one-stop shop for overall health and fitness.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It’s a great time to take stock and give thanks for all the people and things in our lives that we appreciate and value. What are you thankful for? Don’t forget to share that with those you love.
